Ruben van Hofwegen is a Seconded National Expert from NCSC-NL to ENISA,

the EU Cyber Security Agency. He works mainly on EU cyber crisis management and ENISA's private partnership program.

Ruben's bio

Ruben van Hofwegen has been working in the field of security and crises for nearly two decades. At national level, he has been involved in crisis management during (inter)national, such as the MH17 plane crash and has advised various levels of government on security at a strategic level. 

In 2019, after positions at the National Crisis Centre, Inspectorate Justice and Security and the National Coordinator for Security and Counterterrorism, he made the switch to cyber security at the National Cyber Security Center. Ruben and his team organized the ONE Conference for many years, an internationally renowned conference in the field of cyber security.

From the NCSC, he was deployed as Seconded National Expert in 2022 and now works at the European agency ENISA in Brussels. He is committed to an optimal approach to cyber crisis management in and for the EU member states and working at ENISA's private partnership program.
