Mikko Hyppönen is a worldwide authority on computer security.

He has written on his research for the New York Times, Wired and Scientific American and lectured at the universities of Oxford, Stanford and Cambridge. Mr. Hyppönen has been listed on Foreign Policy Magazine's Top 100 Global Thinkers list. He's also the Curator for the Malware Museum at the Internet Archive.

More recently, Mr. Hyppönen has been discussing the impact of COVID-19 on cyber criminal activity and leading the collective cyber security community in warning attackers away from targeting vital healthcare services and providers.

Mr. Hyppönen is also a regular advisor to the cyber security industry, as seen recently with the Vastaamo Psychotherapy Centre cyber attack in Finland, where he took the lead in helping both victims and the authorities. 

Mr. Hyppönen has been the subject of hundreds of interviews in global media, including a 9-page profile in Vanity Fair.

Mr. Hyppönen, born in 1969, was selected among the 50 most important people on the web by the PC World magazine and was included in the FP Global 100 Thinkers list.
