
Ieva Ilves brings over twenty years of public policy expertise,
specializing in foreign affairs, security, digital transformation, and cybersecurity. Her government service includes roles as Advisor to the President of Latvia, Head of National Cybersecurity Policy at Latvia's Ministry of Defence, EU Political Advisor in Azerbaijan (EUSR), and Latvia's Mission to NATO.
Ieva's bio
Her leadership resulted in Latvia's first national cybersecurity strategy, the establishment of the NATO Strategic Communications Centre of Excellence in Riga, and the launch of the educational program “Computer for Every School Child”.
Currently, Ieva advises Ukraine's Ministry of Digital Transformation and WithSecure while directing a cybersecurity education program in Riga. Following Russia's full-scale invasion, she served as Advisor to the EU Advisory Mission in Ukraine.
She co-founded the Women4Cyber Latvia chapter, supported the peer learning platform StartSchool, and serves on the Board of Latvia's National AI Center.
Ieva is the former First Lady of Estonia and holds a Master of International Public Policy from Johns Hopkins University SAIS.
